Embrace impracticality
Want to learn more about yourself? Get a one-way ticket to the other side of the world.
Traveling is not the only way to find yourself, but is it effective? It is.
Is it also impractical? Of course it is.
Searching for insights is always impractical. It’s a pursuit of the unknown; there’s no defined process or timeline for it.
On the other hand, you’ve got stuff to do, milestones to hit, expectations to fulfill. As long as you measure progress with deadlines and checklists, foundational work will always seem impractical. Is it a good enough reason to avoid it?
It’s a rhetorical question (not everybody gets it).
