Everybody's up for grabs
During the pandemic, people have started to value their time more and adopted a newfound sense of self-respect. Millions, it seems, won’t return to the office.
I’m a freelancer; I have no idea about the value of time, nor do I have any self-respect, but I get what’s happening.
These people are not just trying to leave the cubicle and the commute behind; they’re looking for flexibility and purpose. Meanwhile most of their colleagues who are planning to stay in their jobs are doing so only because they like where they live.
This means that if you’re ok with your employees working remotely, and if you have anything to offer beyond that (like more money, more benefits, more career advancement opportunities, or more meaningful work), everybody’s up for grabs.
