Justin's tweet
A couple of months ago, less than a year after this tweet, Gignac’s company Working Not Working, got acquired by, you guessed it: Fiverr.
If you’re not familiar with these companies, just know that they share a common goal: connecting creative talent with organizations, but their respective philosophies on how that should work are poles apart. Unsurprisingly the acquisition freaked out the WNW community; Justin had sold their platform to the devil.
Gave me a giggle. Also made me think of the enormous pressure society puts on us to have opinions, voice them fiercely, and sprinkle them with fucks and shits.
You may feel the need to defend opinions said out so loud just so you don’t end up making a fool of yourself. It could mean having to pick between passing on an opportunity in the name of coherence, or taking the opportunity and being seen as an opportunist by your people. Neither sounds desirable.
