Start from the problem
Ideas are a dime a dozen but too easy to fall in love with (when they’re your own).
Here’s a simple technique to gain some perspective:
What’s the problem that this great idea you had is trying to solve? Describe it succinctly.
Now can you think of 5 other ideas that could solve it just as well?
If you find the exercise hard, perhaps you’re not familiar with the problem enough. Perhaps that’s a blessing; your gut should know.
